Boston
Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit, academic medical center
located in Boston's historic South End. The hospital is the primary
teaching affiliate for Boston University School of Medicine. Emphasizing
community-based care, the mission of Boston Medical Center is to provide
consistently accessible health services to all is the largest safety
net hospital in New England. Its motto is "Exceptional Care

Boston
Medical Center is also a member of Boston HealthNet, a high quality
healthcare system that includes 15 community health centers in Boston,
Dorchester, Mattapan, Quincy, Roslindale, and Roxbury. Boston Medical
Center provides a full spectrum of pediatric and adult care services
from primary to family medicine advanced specialty care.
In
addition to Boston Medical Center playing an integral role in Dr. Nancy
Kressin's project to train pediatricians in oral health counseling,
it has also been the site for other pilot projects, including a project
for improving the oral health of refugees under the direction of Dr.
Paul Geltman, a pediatrician. The Program for Refugee Oral Health has
been conducted in cooperation with Delta Dental Foundation of Massachusetts.
